More Fortune$: Historical Photo Montages 1943-44
by Bob Matheny
My second series of Fortune Magazine photo montages were made in September and October of 2006 and are mounted on 21½ x 13 inch black gatorboard. On the front are the montaged front and back covers of a particular issue. With both series, I tried to reflect the contents of the issue plus the essence of the time period. On the back are two full page images selected from the same issue. If you are interested in seeing what the original covers looked like, you can find most of them at:

If you are interested in seeing the back of a particular montage, you will have to buy it. They all go for a picayunish fortune of $350.00, ready to hang on your wall with matching Ziabicki brass plated "Ring" Hangars and Deluxe "Floreat" Hangars. A photo montage is simply the selection and composition of interesting visual material, mostly photographs. For a brief history, try:

An acquisition of a photo montage will include, in most cases, what is left of the original magazine, which is usually about 95%. |
